The Money Lesson That Changes Everything

Every parent in Manchester knows the conversation. Your teenager asks for something expensive, and you wonder: do they understand what money actually means?

Young people learning about finance

Financial literacy isn't taught in most schools. Yet it's the foundation of every major life decision your child will make. From university choices to career paths, from relationships to retirement planning.

We've spent seven years working with families across Greater Manchester, watching young people transform their relationship with money. Not through lectures or boring spreadsheets, but through real conversations about real choices.

What We've Learned About Young Minds and Money

Children as young as seven can grasp compound interest if you explain it through stories. Teenagers respond to investment principles when you connect them to the influencers they follow or the trainers they want to buy.

The problem was never that young people can't understand finance. The problem was that nobody bothered to make it relevant to their world.

"My 14-year-old daughter now asks me about pension contributions. I never thought I'd see the day." — Parent from Didsbury

How Our Programmes Work

Each programme runs for eight weeks. We meet once weekly, either on Saturday mornings or Tuesday evenings, depending on your schedule and your child's age group.

Small groups of six to eight participants work through scenarios tailored to their life stage. Primary school children learn through games and challenges. Secondary students tackle real investment decisions and budgeting exercises. College-age participants build complete financial plans.

Why Manchester Families Choose Us

We're not financial advisors selling products. We're educators who believe every young person deserves to understand money before making expensive mistakes.

Our team includes former teachers, youth workers, and finance professionals who've seen both sides: the education system that ignores money literacy, and the financial industry that profits from confusion.

What Parents Notice First

Most families see changes within three weeks. Not dramatic personality shifts, but subtle awareness. Questions about household bills. Interest in news about inflation. Comparing prices without being prompted.

"My son is 13 and asked if he could see our energy bills to understand how much gaming actually costs us. That never would have happened before." — Parent from Chorlton

By week six, most participants start setting their own financial goals. By week eight, they have frameworks for decision-making that will serve them for decades.

Questions About Our Approach

Do you require any previous financial knowledge?

None whatsoever. We start from each child's current understanding and build from there. Some seven-year-olds know more than some seventeen-year-olds, and that's perfectly fine.

What if my child misses a session?

We provide catch-up materials and one-on-one time before the next session to ensure nobody falls behind. Life happens, and we build flexibility into our structure.

Where do sessions take place?

We have venues in the Northern Quarter, Didsbury, and Chorlton. You'll choose your preferred location during enrolment, and we assign groups based on age and location preference.
